Airsoft guns are air powered ballistic projectors that replicate real fire arms. Airsoft guns come in all shapes and sizes ranging from pistols, to rifles to shotguns. A majority of airsoft guns are powered by a mechanical gearbox that uses a piston and cylinder system to compress the air required to fire the projectile. Airsoft pistols are predominantly gas powered airsoft guns using pressurized gas. Specific rifles, like bolt action sniper rifles and shotguns; are spring powered airsoft guns and manually cocked, similar to a pellet gun. Airsoft guns fire a 6mm ball projectile and are used for recreation and professional training.
ELECTRIC AIRSOFT GUNS
Electric airsoft guns aka AEGs are the most common type of airsoft guns. AEGs are battery powered and can usually be fired in semi or full auto mode. Electric airsoft guns packages will come with a rechargeable battery and a battery charger. They usually fire at a velocity between 350 and 400 FPS with 0.20g BBs.
GAS AIRSOFT GUNS
Gas powered airsoft guns use compressed gas to shoot the BBs. Airsoft GI carry both green gas and CO2 powered airsoft guns. The majority of gas powered guns are pistols but there are plenty of rifle style gas powered airsoft guns on the market. Many gas airsoft guns have blowback feature to give the feel of real guns.
SPRING AIRSOFT GUNS
Spring powered airsoft guns use a simple cock and shoot mechanism which is easy to operate. The user just pulls back the slide (for pistols), or the bolt (for rifles) on the airsoft guns before each shot. There are also many powerful spring powered sniper rifles available.
